My passion for yoga was sparked in circa 1972. my mum took me to a Yoga class (there were no styles back then) & what I remember is a sense of calm that my 5 year old obviously was craving.  Fast forward to 1998, I was partying like a maniac in Edinburgh and somehow made it to an Ashtanga Yoga class. I loved the class and the teacher dearly, both kept me grounded in a wild, chaotic and very fun decade living in Scotland.

This set the scene for my first Bikram Yoga class in Old Street London, in June 2004. BOOM!

I needed a serious U-turn in my life and my prayers were answered with this practice. I detoxed, I healed, I became empowered. Then I was called to become a Bikram teacher - a huge life milestone. Connecting with and serving over 10K like minded souls on this magnificent yoga journey. I developed the qualities of presence, self -expression and compassion for the students I teach.

I loved teaching so much I "I bought the company" and became director of Bikram In The Shire in 2019. For 6 glorious months I expanded myself and the studio. While the business slowly crumbled after the lockdowns and closed in February ‘24, I made a quantum leap in teaching, communication & business skills. My passion for Bikram Yoga continues to grow and if I was to distill all of my teaching experience into a word, it would be resilience. My students are resilient, have a yoga practice that is sustainable for life and a teacher who is deeply committed to their longevity.

PS I also teach Yin Yoga and Hot Pilates, which I also love as brilliant compliments to Bikram Yoga!
